“It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.”
– E.E. Cummings
Being a teenager isn’t easy to begin with…kids who experienced the trauma of pandemic are now teens. It’s gonna take some time. Not to mention family dynamics, peer pressure, school, and everything else that comes along with being a teenager now.
Developing the coping skills to manage anxiety and depression is critical, especially now. Recovering from the pandemic, watching how adults deal with their own stress, what a time to be a teen. How frustrating, confusing and sad some of this must be for them. They’re dealing with a type of grief that is unknown to many adults and it’s probably leaking out as signs of depression and anger and anxiety.
Plus, they’re still dealing with the issues that are developmentally normal.
Social media pressure, cyber bullying, body issues, anxiety, academic pressure of a new type of schooling, disordered eating, and a myriad of relational troubles.
No matter what you try, you can’t get a peep out of them.
You’re trying to help them as you all figure out this new paradigm but, you honestly just want the best for your teenager.
We’re here to help.
At Greenlake Wellness Group, we have several available therapists who ADORE working with teens. There’s a special spice of life that only teenagers have and sometimes it’s hard for this age group to express that to their every day people.
We want to help your teens through the process of grieving the unfairness that’s happening. We believe that expressing the feelings that are bubbling up can be helpful and healthy for the overall adaptability that it takes to becoming a grown up.
By providing them with their own tools for thriving – and if need be, collaborating with you for healing – we believe that you’ll thrive too.
Let us support you.
