We understand that finding the right therapist is important, and personality fit absolutely matters. However, therapy is not just about connection—it’s about clinical expertise and the ability to guide you through your challenges in a meaningful way.
For this reason, with a few exceptions, we do not offer free consultations. Instead, we encourage clients to use their intake session as an opportunity to assess fit. A 15-minute conversation isn’t enough to determine whether therapy will be helpful to you, just like a brief chat with a doctor wouldn’t reveal the full scope of your medical needs. Therapy is a process, and it takes time for trust to build and patterns to emerge. We recommend committing to 3–5 sessions before deciding whether to continue. If at that point you don’t feel like it’s the right match, we are happy to help you transition to another therapist.
